Although Joe and Josephine Blow on the street may not know who Fred Allen was, the fans of Vintage Radio and the comedians of the Golden Age of American Comedy certainly will.

Famous for his (synthetic) feud with Jack Benny, and his curmudgeonly character (which by all accounts was a façade), Fred became prominate at the beginning of television for his appearance on what may have been then #1 panel show of all time.
