Earlier we said the lives of famous artists rarely make the most exciting reading. This is not necessarily true for all famous artists, of course. One exception to the "artists-are-boring" rule is Count Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Monfa. For one thing being born into the landed aristocracy, he was never a starving artist. Secondly, his family encouraged his interest in art. And thirdly, he was such a wild and crazy artist that you might want to read his most recent biography which was published in 1994.
