Jacques Yves Cousteau

Jacques Yves Cousteau was not a good student. In fact, his conduct and performance was so poor he got booted out of his collège. So his dad decided he would "straighten him out" - to use a phrase popular among the follicularly challenged - and sent his son to a school with near-military strictness. To everyone's surprise - including Jacques - the lad did quite well. But his plans for a career were abruptly changed by what could have been a disastrous mishap.
