Salvatore Lucania
Salvatore Lucania came to America with his parents in 1903. There - among other things - he changed the last letter of his name from an "a" to an "o", shifted the "i" back two spots, and adopted the American name "Charles". But most people - including the press - called him "Lucky".
As an adult, Lucky always claimed he was a US citizen, and in his chosen profession he adopted the American way. He selected his friends and business partners from all races, creeds, and walks of life.
Sure, there were some negative aspects to Lucky. But nobody's perfect, and any man who likes dogs can't be all bad.
