Everyone knows that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a strong advocate of the non-violent protest, a veritable saint who worked for the liberation of the oppressed classes, and who almost singlehandedly led India from under the iron heel of colonialism to emerge as the largest democracy in the world.
