Truman Capote was one of the most famous writers of the 20th century. He wrote novels, short stories, plays, and journalism. Ironically although he wasn't a one-hit wonder, today many people see him as such.

Or at least if they remember anything he wrote, they only remember one book. But at least the book was, they point out, of a new literary genre that has now become a mainstay of scholarship.
