Rose and her friend Bud have lived many years most contentedly on a Colorado farm where they more or less have the run of the place. On cooler days they prefer the house (actually the garage) where they can lie contentedly among a mound of quilts and blankets while on hot summer days they prefer to relax in the pool. That pretty much summarizes the busy, active lifestyle of Bud and Rose. In other words, they are pretty much like normal 21st century Americans.
This is a pastel drawing and has a look reminiscent of the style of book illustrations common 'ere color photographic reproductions began to replace color art. Technology is, of course, what changes a craft which is useful and even necessary for a society into fine art. But c'est la vie.
