The next step once the student mastered (laughable word) drawing was to move onto cast painting. These are paintings of four casts that were painted during a class. Two were chosen to try to get a likeness of a particular statue (and reasonably successfully) and the others were classic cast paintings.

The colors did not quite reproduce true in the photograph (cheap camera and taken with flash). The blue is usually actually a gray. But they actually look kind of nice as it is.
